Salvatore Toti Bellastella est avocat et dirige l'un des plus importants cabinets d'avocats d'Italie. Sous sa direction travaille Antonio Bonocore que Salvatore utilise comme son homme à tout faire. Lorsque le jeune praticien passe l'examen d'avocat avec d'excellents résultats, Salvatore lui offre un contrat de 10.000 euros par mois qui lui assure également l'implication dans les causes les plus importantes. Il n'y a qu'un petit accroc : en retour, Antonio devra épouser la maîtresse de Bellastella, Isabel, une Argentine qui désire obtenir la citoyenneté italienne.
