In the village of San Andres, the rivalry between two families the Valdes and the Ramirez is centered on "El Manantial", a beautiful fountain of water that happens to bathe the small property of the Valdes and not the neighboring ranch, the rich and prosperous hacienda "Piedras Grandes", where the best cattle are raised and is property of the Ramirez. Margarita will not permit this and so she tells her husband to make sure her son will never be together with Alfonsina so he could marry Barbara, her cousin's daughter. Justo rapes Alfonsina and she leaves along with her mom and her aunt. Five years later... Alfonsina is graduating from school and has a good life until her mother commits suicide because she found out she was deathly ill and could no longer live with the guilt of her lifestyle. Before dying, her mother confesses to Alfonsina that Justo Ramirez destroyed her life and after that Alfonsina vows revenge on the man who destroyed her family. She returns to San Andres and there she once again sees Alejandro who is now engaged to Barbara. Their love is still present in their hearts. They will have to fight for their love and see if they can be happy by the shores of El Manantial... El Manantial is a Mexican telenovela that first aired in 2001, starring Adela Noriega and Mauricio Islas. The telenovela received TVyNovelas Award for Best Telenovela, in 2002.

Cuando me enamoro, se detiene el tiempo is a Mexican Spanish-language telenovela produced by Carlos Moreno Laguillo and Televisa. It is a remake of the 1998 Televisa telenovela La mentira. Silvia Navarro, Juan Soler and Jessica Coch are stars, with the participations of Rocío Banquells and Lisardo Guarinos as the main villains, the stellar participations of René Casados, Julieta Rosen, José Ron, and the special participation of Sebastián Zurita. Univision promoted Cuando me enamoro for the United States audience, with the first promo shown on March 30, and was initially scheduled to air at 8pm central. A second promo confirmed an April 19 airing at 7pm central. The third promo aired on April 5, confirming a 7pm/6pm central on Univision, and aired from April 20, 2011 to January 6, 2012.

Un jour, elle croise le regard de Sergio Santibañez fils du propriétaire de l'Hacienda où elle s'est introduite. Elle est subjuguée par cet homme. Emu par la situation de la jeune femme qui s'accroche à lui, et se sentant en âge de se marier, il propose à Marimar de s'installer à l'Hacienda. Sergio n'est pas amoureux mais ils se marient rapidement car Sergio veut faire rager son père qui refuse de lui attribuer sa part de l'Hacienda. Renato, le père de Sergio et surtout Angelica, la femme de ce dernier regrettent d'avoir poussé Sergio à trouver une épouse. Sergio est footballeur dans un club de la capitale, Mexico. Marimar est vexée de voir que son mari ne souhaite pas qu'elle le rejoigne. Il lui propose de rester à l'Hacienda en attendant qu'il fasse construire une maison non loin de là. Il s'imagine que Marimar sera une parfaite maîtresse de maison à son retour. Il lui envoie des lettres qui ne lui sont pas lues. Marimar est gentille mais elle peut se montrer très insolente avec les gens qui la prennent de haut. Elle se dispute donc régulièrement avec Angelica. Angelica se débarrasse d'elle en l'accusant d'un vol de bijoux. Marimar se retrouve en prison enceinte. Angelica ordonne à un de ses employés de s'occuper des grands-parents de Marimar. Il fait plus que demandé en les tuant. Marimar ne reste pas longtemps en prison. À sa libération elle ne rêve que d'une chose : quitter la région et prendre un nouveau départ. Avec l'aide du prêtre, Padre Porres, elle trouve un logement dans une auberge de Mexico. La poule Macha finit dans les assiettes de l'auberge. Marimar est embauchée comme domestique chez le riche homme d'affaires Gustavo Aldama, qui recherche sa fille. Gustavo va faire d'elle une femme cultivée, distinguée, ambitieuse et son héritière. Ce n'est que la veille de sa mort qu'il apprend que cette jeune femme est en réalité sa fille. Marimar a perdu toute naïveté. À Mexico on la connaît sous l'identité de Bella Aldama, une redoutable femme fatale, orgueilleuse et très méfiante. Elle réussit à cacher sa grossesse, puis élève sa fille en toute discrétion. Sergio tombe amoureux de cette femme d'affaires charismatique. Il a des doutes mais refuse de croire que Marimar ait pu autant changer. Marimar ressent toujours quelque chose pour Sergio mais n'oublie pas le manque de considération de celui-ci à l'époque où elle était pauvre. Elle ne supporte pas la goujaterie de son mari qui semble bien s'amuser à Mexico. Marimar se vante d'être riche, tourne Sergio en bourrique, et souhaite se venger de la famille Santibañez. Le chien Sac à puces, dont on entend les pensées, est bien plus perspicace que les humains. Il essaie de protéger Marimar contre elle-même.

Canal de las Estrellas aired Dos Hogares from June 27, 2011 to January 20, 2012, with Abismo de Pasión replacing it. From October 31, 2011 to May 29, 2012., Univision broadcast Dos Hogares at 3pm central, replacing one hour of Ni Contigo Ni Sin Ti.

The Mexican version however is taken from the original Colombian soap opera series "El Último Matrimonio Feliz". The story is about six women who befriend each other and help each other deal with the pains of life, particularly in regards to marriage and relationships. They'll realize that even amidst their problems, happiness is not impossible to attain. It won seven Premios TVyNovelas awards for Best Telenovela of the Year, Best Male Villain, Best First Actress, Best First Actor, Best Co-Star Actress, Best Co-Star Actor, and Best Young Lead Actor. Para Volver a Amar aired in the United States on Univision from March 8, 2011 to October 28, 2011 at 12am/11pm central.

Palabra De Mujer is a telenovela remake of El Amor Tiene Cara De Mujer was made by Televisa, starring Edith González, Yadhira Carrillo, Ludwika Paleta, and Lidia Ávila. The telenovela, a production of José Alberto Castro, premiered October 22, 2007 and ended on May 9, 2008 in El Canal de las Estrellas.
