Ernesto and Filippo, two high school teachers, couldn’t be more different: Filippo is a cheerful liberal who is constantly online. Sous la forme de 20 sketches, Les monstres met en scène les « petites monstruosités » quotidiennes, les mesquineries et mensonges des stéréotypes italiens des années 1960. La charge critique de cette comédie italienne est assez forte et n’épargne rien ou personne, en particulier les institutions et pouvoirs comme le gouvernement (8), l’église (19), la justice (10) ou la télévision (18) à travers leurs représentants respectifs.
