"Ça parle de la mort", prévient Pietro au seuil du film et d’une chanson qui, dédiée à son cousin mort sous les balles d’un gendarme, lui tirera des larmes. Le film aussi parle de la mort, parce qu’il faut "montrer les choses moches, et pas seulement les choses belles". Disant cela, Pietro dessine une authentique morale documen­taire. Car s’il est à l’image, c’est aussi lui qui tient la caméra, un smartphone ordinaire confié à lui et à son ami Alessandro par Augusto Ferrante. Léguer les moyens du film à ses personnages (ici deux adolescents du quartier de Traiano, à Naples, où la loi du crime les menace aussi sûrement que la misère) n’est pas un geste neuf en soi. Mais comme le suggère le titre du film, sa singularité vient de ce que Pietro et Alessandro se fil­ment à bout-de-bras, toujours dans le cadre en même temps que les événements qu’ils désignent.
